Southside Elementary in DeWitt used the Internet to access a digital classroom program provided by The National Archives and Records Administration. The program Southside modified for fourth grade level is titled, "Powers of Persuasion--Poster Art From World War II." Using new digital image technology, we were able to connect fourth graders in our economically depressed area with humanities scholars in the Washington, D.C. area. This program and procedure were new and unique to the school district. Funds for the program were provided by the Arkansas Humanities Council and the DeWitt Public Schools.
